About Billy Marshall
Billy is the industry’s leading voice in driving adoption of virtualization and virtual appliances to accomplish rPath’s mission - simplify the delivery and consumption of software innovation. Under Billy’s leadership, rPath was the first company to offer products for the creation, distribution and maintenance of applications as virtual appliances. The company has been awarded numerous industry accolades, including being named to American Venture Magazine’s list of “2008’s Most Promising Start-ups,” Linux Magazine’s “Top 20 Companies to Watch in 2008,” AlwaysOn “AO 100 Top Private Companies for 2007″ and “Most Innovative Software Idea” by SoftwareCEO/CompTIA.
Prior to founding rPath in 2005, Billy was Vice President of North America Sales for Red Hat where he also conceived and oversaw the launch of Red Hat Network, the platform that enabled Red Hat’s subscription revenue model. He began his career with General Electric where he held various production, supervisory, engineering and management positions. Billy holds an Aerospace Engineering degree from Georgia Tech as well as MS degrees in Management and Engineering from MIT.
